Kids Kicking Cancer provides intensive end-of-life care for children who are no longer responsive to medical treatment, including supportive programs for the child, family, hospital staff and other classmates. Services are provided in the hospital and home environments one to seven days per week. Toward the end of a child’s life, we hold a black belt ceremony for the child, sometimes in front of hundreds of their family and friends. The student receives his or her black belt with their name embroidered on one end. On the other end, the words “Master Teacher” stand out. These children are told that they will always be teachers for Kids Kicking Cancer.
